Photographs

I work from one main photograph with others for reference and context. When placing an order please give me one key photo that, you feel, best represents the subject ensuring that it's in focus, the subject is large in the frame and the lighting is good. For group portaits I'm happy to work from several individual photos but please bear in mind I can only paint what I see! I do understand that sometimes obtaining new or additional photos can be difficult so, if your set of photos is limited or they are not terribly clear please let me have a look at them to enable me to advise you on the best option. You can email me your photos though please do not reduce the size or quality beforehand; alternatively you can mail them to me as either prints or on a CD. I will, of course, take good care of any photos you send and return them after the commission is complete.

If you would like to come to you and take my own set of photographs then please let me know as I am more than happy to do so. Information of the costs associated with this option are included in my price list

Payments and Deposit

Once you have decided to go ahead I will require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm the order. Once received I'll be able to advise you of an approximate start date for your portrait.

Payment can be made by either personal cheque (UK only, payable to Mrs Sally Lancaster) or by Credit or Debit card via Paypal, Please email me with how you would like to pay and I will send you an invoice.

Finished Painting

It's important to me that you're completely satisfied with your portrait and so, before despatching the work, I'll send a scan of the piece to ensure that it is to your liking. Once you have approved this and the balance due on the painting has been received, I'll send out the finished portrait. To see a painting progressing through the stages please click here.

Framing

My paintings do not come framed as the frame is used to tie the finished work to its location and my belief is that this decision is a personal one and should be made by the customer.

Delivery

Within the UK postage for 10" x 12" and 12" x 16" paintings is £10 and for 14" x 18" and 16" x 20" paintings is £15. For destinations outside the UK please ask for a quote.
